Your Guide to Understanding Eye Care and Our Services
About Our Practice and Services
The Eye Den offers a range of services, including comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, and a selection of stylish eyewear. Our goal is to meet all your eye care needs in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
Dr. Iden sees patients aged 4 years and older, providing comprehensive eye care for children and adults alike. Early eye exams are crucial for detecting vision problems that can affect a child’s development and learning, and we strive to create a comfortable environment for our younger patients.
We do not perform LASIK, PRK, or corneal cross-linking procedures. However, we will evaluate your specific needs to determine if these options, along with other corrective procedures, are suitable for you. Additionally, we offer co-management for LASIK and PRK, including both pre-operative and post-operative appointments. If you’re considering these options, please feel free to reach out for guidance.
The Eye Den offers a wide selection of eyewear, including prescription glasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses. We carry various styles and brands to suit your personal preferences and vision needs.
Your Eye Exam
It is generally recommended to have an eye exam every one to two years, depending on your age, health, and vision needs. Children and individuals with specific eye conditions may require more frequent visits. Dr. Iden can provide personalized recommendations based on your situation.
During your first eye exam, you can expect a thorough evaluation of your vision and eye health. Dr. Iden will review your medical history, perform various tests to assess your vision, and check for any potential eye conditions. The entire process typically takes about an hour.
To prepare for your eye exam, bring your current glasses or contact lenses, a list of any medications you are taking, and your insurance information. It’s also helpful to note any vision changes or concerns you may have experienced since your last visit.
Insurance and Vision Plans
We are in-network with several vision plans, including Eyemed, VSP, and Spectera. This allows us to provide you with quality eye care while maximizing your benefits. If you have questions about your specific plan, feel free to contact our office for assistance.
Yes, we accept both medical and vision insurance at The Eye Den, including BCBS, UHC, Aetna, Medicare, and Cigna. If your vision insurance isn’t accepted, your medical insurance may still cover your visit. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us or your insurance provider to verify if we’re in-network for your plan. Our team is here to help you navigate your benefits and ensure you receive the coverage you deserve.
Payments and Financing
The Eye Den is a cashless practice, so we do not accept cash. We accept all major credit cards, as well as FSA and HSA cards, for eye exams, prescription glasses, sunglasses, contact lenses, and other eligible services. If you have FSA or HSA funds remaining, we’re happy to help you put them to good use before they expire.
Yes. We participate with both Cherry and CareCredit, which let you spread the cost of your eye care and eyewear over time so you can get the vision care you need without delay. Terms, eligibility, and promotional offers vary by provider, so ask our team about applying or which option may be right for you.
